| BIKETOBERFEST EVENTS |
Biketoberfest takes place in October for those who can't wait till March. Some of the planned events include motorcycle shows and rallies that showcase new, vintage and custom bikes, demonstration rides on the newest machines from top manufacturers, and on-track motorcycle events at the Daytona International Speedway. While this is a smaller, quieter event is still draws a crowd of more than 100,000 bike enthusiasts annually and adds over 5 million to the local economy.
Biketoberfest 2008 will be the 16th Annual rally held in Daytona Beach. Because it is smaller than Daytona Beach Bike Week that is held in the spring, some people find it preferable so you don't spend as much time in gigantic motorcycle traffic jams and have room to breath once you are off of your bike.
There are a number of scenic rides and if you live in a landlocked state you will love the view of the beaches. You will need to remember that the weather can turn ugly, so be prepared. Fair warning, the police hand out tickets for nudity, burnouts and loud pipes.
If it is your first time at either of Daytona Beach's major rallies you have to experience non stop parade of motorcycles on Main Street and ride A1A at least once. The events are spread out throughout and beyond the Daytona Beach area and Bruce Rossmeyer's huge Destination Daytona has everything from concerts, competitions, vendors, live music and more. You will also find a lot of vendors, attractions, and custom bike builders at the Speedway.
Between the various official Daytona Beach Biketoberfest locations, Destination Daytona, and the bars you can find pretty much everything you want. Live music, contests, stunt shows, bike shows, concerts, vendors, demo rides, manufacturer exhibitions, poker runs, bikini and wet t shirt contests, Miss Biketoberfest and similar contests held at various locations in Daytona.
